Studio 60 convergence
Honestly.
Studio 60's pilot was good. Aaron Sorkin good. I mean...the man can write. I'd read the script for it earlier this summer, so I didn't have to watch the show. He has a way of writing that makes the visuals pop out, making the actual screening of a produced show a little anticlimactic.
Reading between the lines, this also means that no matter who he has playing the roles, it doesn't matter. Which is funny, since so many great performers sign on to Sorkin's shows. But there's not a lot of room for an actor in a Sorkin script. Everyone talks the same, and does it veryquicklyleavinglittletimeorroomforana ctor'scraft. Ah well.
Anyway, the show's good. You should watch it.
What you should not do it read the fake blog they made for it, Defaker.
I've been making fake blogs for years, along with a lot of other fake shit online as companion stuff for TV shows, and I gotta say Defaker's a disappointing piece of shit.
Back in my day, we used to call this crap an episode synopsis. We used to use the fake companion stuff to enhance the story, to expand and add nuance to it. This is just a poorly written regurgitation of the episode's plot.
Bah.
